Maternity photography in Borehamwood

20/8/2015

Last weekend I was asked to do a maternity shoot for Clare who is now 36 weeks pregnant.  In set up my mobile studio in Clare's living room and was able to capture the full range of images that she was after.  We started off getting some photos of her and her partner Tom before moving onto some individual maternity shots.

Before the shoot, Clare told me that her 'colour' was red, so I was able to source some lovely red voile that we could incorporate into the shoot for several different looks and poses.

The shoot itself lasted around an hour and a half and we were able to use a couple of differnet backdrops during the session to get a mix of photos.

You can see a selection of the images that Clare has kindly agreed that I can show my readers after the break below - just a note, there are some shots of implied nudity so don't look if you don't want to see them or are easily offended.

Shannon's maternity shoot

14/8/2014

Back in March I photographed Shannon from Luton for her maternity photo shoot after she had contacted me via my Bump2Baby Portraits website.  All of the images you see in my post have kindly been personally approved for inclusion by Shannon herself.

I was delighted to hear that her baby boy safely arrived and is now home and doing well.  I was able to visit the
family again a couple of months ago to photograph a newborn session with them and it was really enjoyable - I'll post a selection of images from that session in a future post soon.

For the maternity session I was able to set up my collapsible studio backdrop and lights in their living room which gave us enough space to capture the shots we were after.  I was able to use a couple of different backdrop options so we got a great mixture of shots.

We started with some shots of Shannon and her partner together.  Here are a couple of the images we
captured:

Maternity clothing - would you wear this?

Whilst I was out and about this week I spotted the item of maternity wear shown in the photo to the left.

It certainly brought a smile to my face and took me back to the day of our daughter's birth, almost three years ago now.

So what do you think?  I thought I'd add a quick poll below to see whether my readers would actually wear something like this or if you'd steer well clear!

Go on, let me know your thoughts by voting in the poll and add your opinions in the comments section.

Maybe you've already got this maternity t-shirt and love it - how about a photoshoot wearing it?  I think it could make a great, fun accessory to wear for a maternity shoot.

Let me know if you're interested in having a maternity photoshoot with Bump2Baby Portraits by contacting me.

Lisa's maternity photos shoot in Bedfordshire - sneak peek

7/10/2012

I was contacted by Lisa from Kensworth in Bedfordshire a few of months ago via Bump2Baby Portraits enquiring about having a pregnancy photo shoot around her 36th week of her pregnancy.  We discussed what Lisa wanted to achieve from the shoot and I provided her with some idea tear sheets and we settled on last Saturday for the shoot.  All of the images you see here have been personally approved for inclusion in this post by Lisa herself – client confidentiality is always paramount to me.

After arriving at her home, I had a chat with Lisa and her partner about the type of images she would like me to capture and we identified quite a few from the tear sheets that she would like to try.

I was able to set up my portable studio backdrop and lights in her dining room which would give us enough space to capture the shots we were after.  I usually bring a couple of different backdrop options with me so that I can set up in pretty much any available space – though ideally, the more room available, the better!

A few weeks ago I photographed Laura from Stevenage for her baby bump photo shoot after she contacted me via my Bump2Baby Portraits website.  All of the images you see in my post have kindly been personally approved for inclusion by Laura herself.

The package that Laura chose was my Bump To Baby Deluxe package which includes a maternity shoot, then a newborn shoot followed by a shoot at around 4, 8 and 12 months during the baby’s first year.

We’ve provisionally scheduled the newborn shoot for next month and I look forward to seeing their baby grow over the course of the year.

London maternity photography
Back in January I was asked to undertake Claire's somewhat last minute pregnancy photo shoot.

We got some great images from the session - one of my favourites is shown just to the right here.

Having shown Claire and her husband the final selection of images I worked on and them having chosen their favourites, they were very kind in agreeing that I could share with you a slideshow that I put together for them of images featuring Claire on her own.

Enjoy!

Please note this video does contain some nudity so please do not watch if you are easily offended.

Borehamwood maternity photography - some pictures

Following on from my last post a few weeks ago about Tanya's maternity photoshoot with Bump2Baby Portraits, I'm happy to report back that she and her husband Gary love the photos I captured for them and they've agreed that I can post a few of the shots in this blog.

1. We just used a large, brightly lit patio door window with a voile drape for the backdrop to this natural light shot.

Maternity photography in Borehamwood

14/3/2011

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of photographing a lovely couple from Borehamwood - Tanya and Gary, who are expecting their first child in the middle of next month.  Tanya had contacted me a couple of months ago via Bump2Baby Portraits to arrange a pregnancy photo shoot in her home.

We had a really good session in both their garden and in my home studio setup that I am able to take to clients’ homes.  Despite being slightly nervous at first, with my calming reassurance, they both soon relaxed and we were able to capture some lovely images which I’m sure they’re going to love when they see them and will give them a lasting memory of this special time.  Hopefully they’ll agree that I can post a couple of the shots up from the session here once they’ve had a chance to see them for themselves.

I really do find that being in surroundings that you are used to helps clients to relax and enjoy their photo sessions a lot more.  There’s no need to worry about arriving at a studio late, having to find somewhere to park, forgetting something and generally feeling rushed and flustered.  I am able to set my equipment up in most locations and situations, whatever the space available.  I will generally travel to clients within a 20 mile radius of Watford, Hertfordshire, though if clients live further afield, we can normally work something out.

Claire's maternity photo shoot, London

21/1/2011

A last minute decision to have a maternity photoshoot resulted in a collection of wonderful images for Claire and her family.  Her baby boy was born just over a week after the images below were taken!

Claire was aware of my work having previously had a family portrait photo shoot in Cassiobury Park with her husband and their first child.  It was great to catch up with them all again and get them involved in this shoot at their home in Eltham, South London too.

I was able to set up a full in home studio with a continuous backdrop in their home as we made use of their 'through lounge' layout.  I was also able to capture a variety of looks using both the light and dark backgrounds that I bring with me to every shoot.

Below you will find a selection of the images I took during the session in a slideshow:

Jane's maternity photo shoot

15/10/2009

On Sunday morning I had a pregnancy photo shoot with Jane who is expecting twins in just over a month’s time.  We have been planning the shoot for just under a couple of months now and it came about after she saw some examples of my other maternity photos.

Earlier in the week I had sent Jane a set of posing ideas that I have put together and which would give her an idea of some of the setups that she might want to try.  I feel that this is an important step to undertake with maternity (and also boudoir) photo shoots as it can give the client some ideas that they may not previously have thought of trying out.

After setting up my portable studio in their living room, we set went over the posing sheets I had sent her and discussed what she might like to try. We then started with the photo shoot itself.  As Jane has a young daughter, I thought it would be good to get some shots of her with her mum and bump, connecting with her soon to be new sisters.  Ellie was a star in her own right and we got some great photos – one of which can be seen below.
